Comments: Lula is a beautiful, African girl with a sweet loving disposition. She loves people grinning and wagging her curly tail and offering her belly to anyone who give her "belly rubs." Although Lulu has the typical headstrong basenji personality, she is really very polite and considerate of us, her devoted owners. When she does do something that is unacceptable, she is misbehaving in our best interests - tasting things from the kitchen garbage to make sure we are not wasting good food, tasting cat food to be sure it is safe for her cat friends, asking to go in and out of the yard a hundred times in fifteen minutes to give weather reports, etc. Lulu loves to go camping with us and protects us well from lions, tigers and bears, baroo! She even retrieves sticks from the lake as long as the water isn't past her delicate ankles! She brings us joy to see her run as fast as the wind with the biggest wrinkled grin on her face and she shows us how special we are to her as she cuddles up close on the couch. Lulu is ver vocal and "talks" to us sometimes for a minute or two as we try to repeat the strange howls, chrotles and gurgles that come from her. Lulu has the most engaging personality of any dog I have every owned and she is wortht he little extra time and tolerance it takes to train her, because we are successful, it is all the more rewarding. Besides all the fun things, Lulu is a lovely representative of the basenji breed and keeps within the standard for the breed quite well. she is a specimen to be proud of and shows it all off in her obvious good health and even temperament.
