The Basenji Club of America is not endorsing any particular trainers or associations. Breeders have volunteered the information for these websites to help you find a trainer for your Basenji or to help you get advice about behavior issues you may encounter. These associations offer lists of contacts:

Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers:  certificants must meet certain qualifications to sit for written exam, then re-certify every 3 years.

Karen Pryor Academy:  6-month on-line and hands-on program.  Certified Training Partners have achieved 90% or better on knowledge, training, and teaching assessments.

Association of Pet Dog Trainers:  Professional members must have some recognized certification.

International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants

Animal Behavior Society:  Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists have a masters or doctorate plus experience.  Partiuclarly good for difficult behavior issues.
