Comments: Per owner: Zazi is a well-built normal sized basenji with a short level back, and a pretty head, but with no tailcurl. She is a very loving, playful, agile and smart basenji and VERY energetic. Loves to run around the countryside chasing birds and game, lying around on the furniture and to cuddle on the
sofa mith me. And she will KILL for food. She does not care much for strangers (strangers being everyone else but me), to touch her, but she IS very curious, and will investigate them in a very cautious way. She will let some strangers close though but not all, and I don´t allways quite understand her logic. Lately she has started to warm up a little and is letting strangers touch her, even without food, so she might end up being a social basenji, who knows? She is not afraid, though, just cautious. She has a very well developed language both body and “spoken,” which makes it very easy for her to get accepted by other dogs. She functions very well with my other 4 basenjis. She yodels quite a lot, both at me, being happy,
and when she finds something interesting. She is really good with other dogs too and she has also made friends with my parrot. She is quite obedient, allthough, not if there is game around. She IS a hunter. And because of that she suffered a multiple-fractured pelvis, when she was 16 months old. My vet was amazed by her very quick recovery, and the fact that she hardly showed that she was in pain. Today, allmost 2 years later, she is fit and well. After that though she has become more aware not to get too far away from me, and if on rare occasions, she does go off after some game, she will be the first to return. And she LOVES food, and will defend her right to it if necessary.
