These are the procedures and forms you
will need to begin the process of obtaining
BCOA approval for your dog imported from
Africa to apply as Basenji Foundation Stock
with the American Kennel Club.

The American Kennel Club is allowing the Studbook for Basenjis to remain open from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2030. All Native Stock applying as Basenji Foundation Stock must go through the AKC approved procedures outlined in the document "Procedures for Submitting Native Stock."

Application deadline is March 1
Evaluation deadline is March 31

These deadlines have been changed with the approved amendments [2014-02M] and will keep the Project on track for publication in the second quarter BCOA Bulletin.

For this year's consideration, this must be returned by December 1, 2011.

NOTE: There is a form for each of the 3 Evaluators to fill in and sign. The Native Stock chair will mail each evaluator chosen a copy of the form and guidelines prior to the evaluation. [2014-02M]

The filled in and signed evaluation forms must be mailed back to the Native Stock chair by March 31. [2014-2M]

This is not a static lists so you are welcome to volunteer to be an Evaluator
if you are qualified (see Procedures for qualifications.)
