The BCOA Board of Directors has reviewed the result of our recent survey and determined that the planned 2020 National the Holiday Inn Saint Louis West at Six Flags, Eureka, Missouri, would have an entry approximately 30% smaller than the 2019 National in Tucson Arizona. This entry was better than expected, given the conditions Covid-19 has imposed on travel, dogs shows, and similar events.

The Board of Directors extends a huge thank you to all the members and guests who support the BCOA National.

Regrettably, the closure of Purina Farms resulted in the loss of any venue for BCOA National Lure Coursing and Racing (LGRA and/or NOTRA) and the loss of the preferred venue for Obedience and Rally. Covid-19 prevented gatherings such as the annual banquet and the live auction. General fund raising, such as T-shirt sales and raffles conducted during the event, will be negatively impacted by the reduced attendance. Thus, it has been determined that the 2020 National is not financially feasible and fails to meet the expectations of a National.

Therefore, the Board of Directors has canceled the 2020 National, and the accompanying North Central Regional.

The Board of Directors is looking forward to the 2021 National, in Lebanon, Tennessee. It’s unknown what the status of Covid-19 will be at that time, however, the planning for 2020 has prepared the Club to deal better with the conditions that may arise.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors
